The Wells Fargo Digital Design Innovation team creates experiences that empower our customers in Commercial Banking and Corporate & Investment Banking to manage their company’s relationship with Wells Fargo confidently and securely and support their business operations. This Role
We're looking for a Product Designer to work as part of our industry-leading design agency focused on creating digital solutions for our customers and helping fulfill our purpose of humanizing digital experiences for commercial, corporate, and investment banking. As a Product Designer focused on digital client onboarding, you will be expected to utilize your full range of product design skills (design thinking, interaction design, visual design, information architecture, user research) in developing a world class customer onboarding experience by partnering with product owners, developers, and design peers and partners. You’ll be supporting insights-driven design efforts with a lean UX and Agile approach to delivery. Primary responsibilities will include crafting digital design solutions and delivering supporting artifacts, engaging with customers and research partners to connect experience insights with design outcomes, and participating in Agile planning and ceremonies with partners.

The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience as a creative and collaborative experience designer who understands how to work in a complex digital ecosystem and partner to deliver useful customer experiences. This designer will keep customer perspectives and needs in the forefront of conversation with partners and navigate challenges to achieving the desired customer experience. Critical success factors will include the ability to operate effectively in a complex organization and develop productive partnerships with many stakeholders. The role requires a sense of urgency, passion for results, and personal accountability for achievement. Previous experience designing for digital financial products and subject matter expertise in Customer Onboarding and Know Your Customer is preferred.

In this role, you will:

  • Participate in developing and executing customer experience solutions for online applications and websites
  • Develop and execute customer experience solutions by employing a broad array of user centered design tools including: customer experience brief, site strategy, wireframes or visual mockups, site layouts, site maps, taxonomies, navigation schematics, task flows, design briefs, key screens, templates, prototypes
  • Review and analyze business, user and technical requirements that require research, evaluation, and selection of alternatives
  • Analyze relevant internal and external sites and consult standards and guidelines as well as policies to determine best practices
  • Exercise independent judgment to guide risk deliverables
  • Design, develops, tests, and refines prototypes
  • Present and defend designs and key milestone deliverables to peers and direct managers
  • Provide product usability, evaluation, and support to product development teams
  • Consult standards and guidelines as well as policies to determine best practices
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
  • Interact with internal customers
  • Receive direction from leaders and exercise independent judgment while developing the knowledge to understand function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements

Required Qualifications, US:

  • 2 years of Online and Digital Product Design, Information Sciences, Graphic, and Visual Arts experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • Command of common design tools, specifically Figma
  • Experience designing effectively within a standards-aligned design environment
  • Ability to ask appropriate questions, communicate effectively and persuasively to convey design solutions to a broad range of stakeholders: product managers, engineers, customers, etc.
  • Experience with strategic planning and diagrammatic skills (Information Architecture), low fidelity wireframe production, high-fidelity design comp production, and design interaction specifications – including which artifact best suits the communication need
  • Familiarity with iterative and agile development processes and knowledge of application layer design and front-end code frameworks (React, jQuery, etc.)
  • Experience using data to inform design outcomes and narratives
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and able to shape and drive work independently
  • Ability to energize others; thrives in teams; highly inclusive, curious, and collaborative

Job Expectations:

  • Hybrid work model – 3 days in office required
  • 10% travel involved

Pay Range

$76,300.00 - $135,700.00 Annual
