Wells Vehicle Electronics, L.P. is Hiring an Automotive Product Manager Near Fond du Lac, WI

Summary:

This position is responsible for launching new products to market along with keeping assigned product segment(s) up-to-date and competitive regarding vehicle coverage, per company guidelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for NPR (New Product Release) process for assigned product segment(s).
  • Utilize applicable experience and product technical knowledge to be able to develop “form, fit and function” criteria for product as well as effectively communicating and collaborating through the products’ lifecycle with all stakeholders within the organization.
  • Review product application coverage to provide appropriate vehicle coverage and compare company product coverage to competitor’s coverage for assigned product segments.
  • Collaborate cross functionally with Purchasing, Engineering, Content, Pricing, and other teams to effectively launch product and maintain its lifecycle.
  • Determine vehicle application information for every part number in assigned product segment(s).
  • Collaborate with Sales and Category Management to determine the review and approval of new product launch.
  • Monitor OE and competitor’s parts for supersessions and determine any impact on company product.
  • Maintain technical competency for assigned segments to be able to provide information and direction to sales/marketing and other departments regarding “fit, form and function”.
  • Maintain knowledge of potential global vendors for assigned segment(s) to be able to assist purchasing with identification of vendor sources that will be price competitive and able to meet fit/form/function.
  • Maintain knowledge of competition’s “fit, form and function” compared to company parts and OE parts for assigned segment(s).
  • Assist with product application discrepancies at customer level and any additional resources tech services may require.
  • Meet with vendors, customers, assist in product launches.
  • Assist at company onsite DC processes.
  • Other job activities as assigned.

Essential Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experience:

  • High School Diploma required; Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing or Engineering preferred; 3-5 years’ experience with product management preferred. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Customer-oriented focus
  • Understanding of core marketing processes and strategies
  • Experience in automotive light vehicles or adjacent industries is a strong plus
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills with an emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to prioritize work to meet required deadlines and keep product segment responsibilities up to date.
  • Ability to travel as needed (up to 20%, attending trade shows and visiting customers)
