WellSpan Health Services is Hiring a Supervisor-Supply Chain Logistics and Distribution Near York, PA

Full time (80 hours biweekly)

Monday - Friday 6am - 230pm

General Summary

Oversees activities relating to the ordering, tracking, receiving, storing, inventory control, and distribution of various items. Items include supplies, linen, mail, print, and equipment in accordance with established priorities and schedules. Supervises warehouse/storeroom personnel.

Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for ordering of supplies.
  • Ensures orders created by Logistics & Distribution Technicians are tracked, expedited, and statused to ensure the right item, in the right quantity, and the right condition, is received at the right place and at the right time.
  • Responsible for item distribution to end users. Ensures that all items are processed and distributed in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Coordinates distribution efforts to effectively introduce new products.
  • Arranges adequate space requirements for storage of items and modifies distribution techniques and practices as required.
  • Works with procurement staff and department heads to coordinate requisitioning, ordering, distribution of items.
  • Controls ordering and requisitioning process to ensure inventory levels of supplies are in keeping with usage.

Common Expectations:

  • Works directly with Logistics & Distribution Manager, Department Supervisor(s) and Staff to ensure customer service excellence in a patient-centered model.
  • Assists in selecting staff, trains/orients personnel, evaluates performance, prepares work schedules, and maintains timekeeping records.
  • At discretion of Logistics & Distribution Manager, may initiate corrective actions and monitor completion and progress.
  • Responsible for workload management, ensuring that all staff are used to do all work and that a balanced approach is achieved.
  • Oversees the work of personnel by training, allocating and monitoring work. Performs work of a similar nature, as needed.
  • Analyzes work flow and recommends/implements appropriate improvements utilizing performance improvement or Lean concepts. Seeks process speed/timeliness, accuracy, and consistency thereof.
  • Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
  • Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature,
  • in-service meetings, and workshops.
  • Maintains knowledge of all computer systems and equipment used in department. Ensures that staff are competent at using systems and equipment.
  • Assists in developing budgets.
  • Provides outstanding service to all customers, fosters teamwork, and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.
  • Compares computer balances with periodic sampling checks of physical inventory and makes adjustments in inventory balances. Researches and reconciles discrepancies.

Qualifications
Minimum Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  • Associates Degree Preferred

Work Experience:

  • 2 years Experience in business, logistics, or distribution. Required and
  • Supervisory experience. Required

Licenses:

  • Certified Materials and Resource Professional Upon Hire Preferred

Courses and Training:

  • Professional certification in Materials Management. Upon Hire Preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Familiarity with requisitioning, ordering, distribution, inventory procedures and Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies.
