Wellstone Brand is Hiring an Adult Assessment Therapist Near Cullman, AL

WellStone is North Alabama's most comprehensive behavioral healthcare provider serving over 13,000 persons a year throughout Northern Alabama, with offices in Huntsville and Cullman. We are a non-profit community organization that offers a wide range of services for every phase of life, from children to older adults

The Assessment Therapist (Mon-Fri 8a-5p Cullman,) will provide comprehensive evaluation to identify, analyze, evaluate, and address problems, issues, and circumstances of clients.

What We're Looking For:

  • Master's degree in a mental health discipline (including practicum or internship), License preferred

  • Minimum 2 years experience preferred 

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills 

  • Knowledge of the nature of addiction 

  • Knowledge of psychiatric disorders in adult population 

  • Ability to make clinical decisions and/or recommendations in a crisis situation 

  • Knowledge of trauma informed, person centered, principles of recovery 

  • Knowledge of educational methods appropriate to adults with additions and co- occurring severe and persistent psychiatric disorders 

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Provide effective clinical assessment of new or returning clients in the assigned clinical department.
  • Document in using electronic health records.
  • Utilize assessment data to support a current DSM diagnosis.
  • Formulate appropriate treatment plan along with client and families, as appropriate.
  • Demonstrate the ability to recognize the elements of a crisis state and know how to deescalate or resolve the situation.
  • Effectively collaborate with the treatment team members and outside sources in the delivery of clinical services.
  • Clinical record keeping.
  • Document appropriate, complete, and clinically comprehensive mental health assessments.
  • Document measurable and specific goals in the treatment plan.
  • Complete billing documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Follow Center policies and procedures.
  • Participate in various meetings to include departmental, divisional, and other meetings as required by the coordinator.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
