Position Description

Weris is currently seeking a skilled GIS Analyst to bolster our team in providing support to the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC) on a 12-month contract. As a vital member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining GIS data resources, collaborating in meetings with business leaders to gather requirements, and diligently completing assigned tasks and projects. Your expertise will be pivotal in digitizing, creating, and maintaining GIS databases, as well as producing maps and other data representations.

This is a hybrid role with work performed remote and occasionally onsite at the customer located in Middletown, PA or at the Weris corporate headquarters located in Sterling, VA.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Maintain GIS Data Resources: Ensure the integrity and accessibility of GIS data resources to support PTC initiatives.
  • Participate in Meetings: Collaborate with business leaders to gather requirements and essential information crucial for project completion.
  • Digitize and Update GIS Databases: Utilize your expertise to digitize, create, maintain, display, and update GIS databases accurately and efficiently.
  • Produce Maps and Data Representations: Generate maps and other data representations using GIS tools, ensuring clarity and precision.
  • Document Map Updates: Record and document details of map updates, additions, or deletions for future reference and accuracy.
  • Proficiency with Esri ArcGIS and extensions (e.g. Network Analyst, 3D Analyst, and Spatial Analysis)

Qualifications- Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • 3 Years of GIS Analyst Experience: Demonstrated proficiency with GIS tools and techniques, with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geospatial Engineering or related field.
  • Data Visualizations: Ability to create compelling data visualizations to communicate complex information effectively.
  • GIS (ArcGIS): Proficiency in Esri ArcGIS software suite, including various extensions such as Network Analyst, 3D Analyst, and Spatial Analysis.
  • SAP (BW, FI, LO, HCM, SRM): Familiarity with SAP modules including BW (Business Warehouse), FI (Financial Accounting), LO (Logistics), HCM (Human Capital Management), and SRM (Supplier Relationship Management).
  • Agile Assets: Experience with Agile Assets software for asset management.
  • OnBase: Knowledge of OnBase document management system.
  • ServiceNow: Experience with ServiceNow platform, particularly in Idea, Project, and Demand Modules.
  • Effective communication skills are essential.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent Problem-Solving Skills.
