Job Summary

To help improve the quality of life for residents of Wesley Commons by assisting with fitness programs specifically designed for active, older adults. Teach and assist with fitness activities and programs. Assist with the assessment of residents' physical fitness, cardiovascular endurance, body composition, muscular strength and endurance, and flexibility and develop personalized exercise programs for residents.

Special Requirements

Must have adequate speech and hearing in order to communicate with the residents; must be able to handle the different emotions associated with residents and their families; must be able to occasionally lift up to 50lbs; must be able to relate information concerning a resident's condition; must be able to walk or stand for extended periods of time; must be able to deal with confidential information of residents such as diagnosis and medical histories; must be flexible with working hours and schedule.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree in physical education, exercise science, or equivalent preferred but not required. Must have a valid SC driver's license and CPR certification. Must have personal training certification or equivalent and group fitness certification within the first year of employment. Must have good computer skills including the use of the Internet, Word, Excel, and Publisher.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
