Life Enrichment Coordinator Independent Living
Department : Life Enrichment
FLSA/Classification : Non-Exempt / Hourly (Full-Time)
Pay Rate : $17.50 - 20.50/hr DOE ; SIGN ON BONUS: $1,200
Location : Wesley Willows Campus
Shifts : WEEKENDS and HOLIDAYS AVAILABILITY REQUIRED
Reports to : Director of Life Enrichment

Job Summary :

Responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing engaging activities that meet the interests and capabilities of residents. The Life Enrichment Coordinator collaborates closely with other staff and community members to create a positive and welcoming environment for all during these events.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Operations:

  • Develop and implement an activity program that promotes residents' physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
  • Develop an activity calendar with events based on residents' interests and capabilities.
  • Assess resident’s interests and abilities, along with past lifestyle, to guide programming.
  • Coordinates programs with other departments, such as nursing and dining services.
  • Use community resources to promote a wide variety of experiences, both on and off campus, for residents.
  • Provide support to the Director of Life Enrichment in programming by identifying opportunities for improvement and suggesting changes based on resident feedback.
  • Chart participation of residents in programs as required.
  • Attends team meetings and trainings for continued growth.
  • Collaborates with Life Enrichment Associates for the implementation of planned activities.
  • Prepares distribution of weekly Green Bag materials and additional duties required.
  • Occasional evening or weekend availability.
  • Maintains a safe, welcoming, and productive environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Key Competencies:

  • Maintains a courteous and professional manner through interactions with others.
  • Uses a resident and customer-focused approach to problem-solving, goal-setting, and management philosophy.
  • Uses discretion in handling confidential information, incorporating all federal, state, and local privacy and confidentiality requirements.
  • Must be sensitive to the needs of older adults and enjoy working with a senior population.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to interface and maintain effective relationships with all departments and employees in a team-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency in technology and computer programs, including advanced experience with Microsoft Office.

Minimum Education/Skills/Experience/Credentials:

  • High school graduate or equivalent required; some college preferred.
  • Must have good interpersonal relations and proven verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills needed to work in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to sit for 2-3 hours during an 8-hour shift.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for 3-4 hours of an 8-hour shift.
  • Must be able to frequently lift 10 to 25 pounds while walking or bending at the waist and knees.
  • Must be able to push, pull, or move carts and wheelchairs, exerting a force of 50 to 100 pounds.

Working Conditions:

  • Regular on-site physical presence is required
  • Reliable, predictable, and punctual attendance to provide effective management of staff, provide timely service to internal and external customers, and support uninterrupted business operations and continuous medical care to residents is required.

Other regulated requirements:

  • Must be willing to undergo pre-employment background check, including (MVR) moving vehicle records.
  • Must have or be willing to receive the Flu-Shot Vaccine and TB testing .
  • Must be willing to undergo pre-employment drug screening, including cannabis .
  • Must be willing to undergo biometric screening.
