Job SummaryWe are looking for a Data Quality Engineer to join our Data practice! This role will focus on designing and developing automated test solutions with code. Ideal candidates possess experience with modern tooling, including programming languages such as SQL and Python, as well as data storage technology such as Snowflake, Microsoft SQL Server, and/or Azure Data Lake Storage. All candidates should have experience in the Property & Casualty insurance industry and be familiar with data warehousing and data lake concepts. As a Quality Engineer at West Bend, you will handle complex issues across an evolving, cloud-native landscape.
Responsibilities & QualificationsAt West Bend Mutual, we value leadership, teamwork, collaboration and incremental improvement. As part of an agile delivery team, the Quality Engineer works on automated test design and development to support business value delivery. This role will help refine and drive our Quality Engineering practice, and collaborate with Data Governance to ensure Data Quality expectations are fulfilled.
Preferred Experience And Skills
  • 2-6 years of experience delivering data solutions in an Agile environment
  • Intermediate proficiency with test automation concepts in cloud-native data architectures
  • Intermediate proficiency with Python and/or SQL
  • Experience with data modeling, data warehouse, and data lake concepts
  • Experience with Snowflake, Azure Data Lake Storage, and/or Microsoft SQL Server
  • Experience with Databricks, Azure Data Factory and/or Snowpark is a plus
  • Experience with DevOps or DataOps concepts; including integrating tests into release pipelines using Powershell or Git
  • Can effectively support data quality by identifying, planning, and implementing automated processes
  • Can effectively communicate, influence, and challenge IT peers
  • Sees a solution through to its full delivery – facilitates business value achievement, not just individual code
  • Shares knowledge, mentors junior team members, advocates best practices
  • Experience with Duck Creek Commercial Lines Templates data is a plus
