West Boylston Middle High School seeks a nurse for the 2024-25 academic year to oversee health service for the student body of 480.Primary role: Provide health services to students- mild/acute illness, or support students with chronic illnesses, treatment of injuries, and administration of medicationsCommunicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding and healthcare concerns.Review health records for proper medical and immunization documentation.Develop Individual Healthcare Plans for students with healthcare needs that may impact their academic performance and or attendance.Assist with performing hearing, vision and postural screenings, and referring students for follow-up.Ensure school environment is safe for children and school staff.Ensure compliance with state and federal health mandates and guidance.Provide health services to strengthen and facilitate the educational process by modifying or removing health-related barriers to learning in the individual students.Collaborate with other specialist and educators to support the mental, emotional and social determinants of learning.Promote an optimal level of wellness of students and staff by providing preventive health services to facilitate the students and staffs optimal physical, mental, emotional and social growth and development.Identify problems and disabilities and provide such services as case finding, health education, referring, and care in order to help prevent serious health problems and manage current chronic conditions.
