Dental Insurance Biller

West Coast Dental is seeking Insurance Billers to work out of our Dental Claims office located in Torrance, Ca. The ideal candidate is motivated and detail oriented. The Dental Insurance Biller will work directly with patient accounts to ensure efficient dental claim submission, attachment of required documents, and communication to insurances using multiple platforms including digital and paper claims. It’s an exciting time to join our company as we expand our network of dental offices servicing California. Prior dental insurance experience is preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Process dental claims for preauthorization, billing and able to follow up on unpaid claims.
  • Manages dental claims entered in dental software and on dental exchange platform
  • Must understand dental terms and the need for justification when billing dental insurance claims
  • Identify services that are unpaid or did not meet the expected insurance reimbursement
  • Assist with financial arrangement for unpaid patient balances
  • Post dental insurance payments and be able to read and understand Insurance Explanation of Benefits (EOBs)
  • Communicate necessary information to assist patients with their dental insurance and to make sure they understand their benefits
  • Document payment and claims activity in patient accounts
  • Must maintain a positive and professional partnership with dental offices and staff

Qualifications:

  • Ability to work independently or in teams
  • Ability to understand dental terminology and insurance breakdowns.
  • Knowledgeable with HMO and PPO dental insurance plans.
  • Able to verify patient eligibility for dental insurances
  • Able to understand CDT codes and EOBs for Dental Insurance
  • Able to coordinate and understand financial arrangements for patient accounts
  • Previous dental insurance billing experience Outstanding communication and analytical skills
  • Microsoft Excel experience preferred
