West Delray Veterinary is Hiring a Human Resources Manager Near Delray Beach, FL

West Delray Veterinary (WDV) is actively seeking a dedicated full-time Human Resource Manager to join and grow with our dynamic team. Established in February 2020, we've rapidly expanded to include a second location, Mindful Veterinary Care, in Lake Worth. As a full-service, integrative general small animal practice, we're committed to providing exceptional care to our beloved patients and clients. The Human Resource Manager will play a crucial role in supporting the teams of both West Delray Veterinary and Mindful Veterinary Care.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field
  • Minimum five (5) years' experience
  • HR Certification: SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP, PHR or SPHR certification

Job Description: The Human Resource Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing various administrative functions, contributing to a positive work environment, managing finances and accounting, staffing and human resources, and other discretionary activities essential for efficient business operations. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Staff Management:

  • Oversight of human resource needs and policy enforcement
  • Assisting managers and supervisors with staff coaching and disciplinary actions
  • Recruitment, onboarding, training, and development of staff
  • Managing staff scheduling, personal time requests, PTO tracking, and payroll calculations
  • Monitoring employee competence and effectiveness
  • Providing counseling on policies and procedures
  • Supervising lead team to ensure effective job handling
  • Managing employee relations and communications

Office Management:

  • Reviewing and updating procedures to enhance service delivery
  • Knowledge of labor laws and disciplinary procedures
  • Updating and maintaining the Employee Manual
  • Managing employee files

Production Management:

  • Collaborating with the Practice Owner, Medical Directors and Practice Manager to plan for practice welfare
  • Motivating staff and supervising all HR activities
  • Overseeing budget allocation for team-related functions and events
  • Monitoring expenditures and approving staff reimbursement requests
  • Maintaining various logs for staff Paid Time Off and Continuing Education

Communication and Problem Solving:

  • Demonstrating strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Engaging in active listening
  • Employing a systematic approach to problem-solving
  • Demonstrating effective time management and priority-setting skills
