Job Overview:
We are seeking part time and full time dedicated Clinical Dietitians to join our healthcare team. The Clinical Dietitian will be responsible for assessing patients' nutritional needs, developing and implementing dietary plans, and providing nutrition counseling to promote overall health and well-being.
Duties:
Develop realistic goals for clinical nutritional services fostering quality patient care based on professional standards of care.
Implement projects which identify opportunities for improvement of existing nutritionally related patient care systems.
Implement nutritionally related interdisciplinary projects.
Complete monthly monitoring of clinical staff performance in achieving quality patient care and implements corrective action when necessary.
Develop clinical indicators that foster an interdisciplinary approach to patient care.
Establish professional programs and activities to foster growth of performance-based competency levels.
Develop and implement training programs which improve clinical and/or customer service skills of clinical staff and the workflow.
Perform and document nutritional assessments according to clinical practice guidelines and departmental policies.
Develop and implement nutritional care plans for nutritionally at-risk patients.
Communicate nutritional care plan to the patient/caregiver and healthcare team.
Provide patients/caregivers with nutritional counseling.
Supervise departmental employees to include new employee orientation, competency assessment, performance evaluation, and handling of personnel matters as delegated/designated by department manager/director.
Demonstrate leadership skills and set clear expectations for employees and maintain employee accountability with all hospital policies and procedures.
Empower staff to make suggestions for improvement of care delivery/services.
Conduct performance evaluations and competency assessments in a timely manner.
Schedule employees and staff in accordance with staffing plan and care/service needs.
Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in dietetics, nutrition, or related field.
Licensed registered dietitian/nutritionist through the State of Louisiana Board of Examiners in Dietetics and Nutrition.
Board Certified Dietitian/Nutrition Specialist with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
3 years of experience in clinical dietetics in healthcare setting.
Preferred:
Master's degree in nutrition or dietetics.
3 years of experience in inpatient and outpatient clinical dietetics with supervisor/ management experience.
