West Michigan International is Hiring a Body Shop Administrator Near Kalamazoo, MI

At West Michigan International (WMI) and K&R Truck Sales, we are a locally owned group of companies devoted to bringing our customers the very best in full-service truck dealership experiences. With five locations in Grand Rapids, Holland, Kalamazoo, Lansing, and Muskegon, we support our customers with extensive service departments, three complete body shops, parts delivery, a fleet of mobile service trucks, towing, and a laser focus on customer service. In addition to truck sales, leasing/rental, and financing, we offer a positive work environment and a generous benefits package.
We are currently seeking a Body Shop Administrator to join our heavy-duty collision and body shop team. This role involves evaluating vehicle damage, preparing detailed repair cost estimates, and coordinating with customers, insurance companies, and repair technicians. Responsibilities

  • Inspect damaged vehicles to determine the extent of structural, body, mechanical, or interior damage.
  • Utilize specialized tools and software to assess damage accurately.
  • Prepare detailed, itemized estimates of repair costs, including labor, parts, and materials.
  • Generate estimates using industry-standard software.
  • Communicate with vehicle owners to explain the repair process, costs, and timelines.
  • Provide excellent customer service, addressing any questions or concerns promptly.
  • Work with insurance adjusters to ensure estimates meet their requirements.
  • Submit estimates and supplementary information to insurance companies for approval.
  • Collaborate with repair technicians to ensure accurate and efficient repairs based on the prepared estimates.
  • Monitor repair progress and adjust estimates as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of estimates, repairs, and communications.
  • Prepare and submit reports on repair costs and timelines to management.
  • Assist in final billing and payment processes.
  • Assist in final inspections of repaired vehicles to ensure quality and completeness.
  • Address any discrepancies or additional repairs needed.
  • Order parts and help manage shop supplies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the heavy-duty truck market or the ability to learn.
  • Experience with frame and alignment, paint, and body or the ability to learn.
  • Ability to follow written instructions and information.
  • Proficient in using estimating software.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle repair processes and techniques.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Compensation

Hourly: $20-$25
