West Tennessee Healthcare is Hiring a Reimbursement specialist Near Jackson, TN

Job Description Summary

Analyzes system-wide third party reimbursement programs, including preparation of Medicare cost report work papers, and other related projects as necessary in department's management of system-wide reimbursement.

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance is required. Certified Public Accountant preferred, but not required. Healthcare accounting / reimbursement experience preferred.

Employee is subject to call back as required by the hospital.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :

  • Assists Director of Reimbursement in preparation of Medicare cost reports for Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, West Tennessee Healthcare, Milan General Hospital, Camden General Hospital, Bolivar General Hospital, Dyersburg Hospital, Martin Hospital, and Pathways.
  • Monthly maintenance of certain statistics required for cost reporting for WTH entities.
  • Monthly reconciliation & summarization of contract labor as required for wage index submission with Medicare cost report for WTH entities.
  • Prepares Medicare cost report for Rural Health Clinics.
  • Prepares CHAMPUS program Capital / DME settlement requests.
  • Assists Reimbursement Director in coordination / communication with internal personnel as needed for preparation of cost report workpapers.
  • Assists Reimbursement Director with Medicare Administrative Contractor requests made during cost report audits.
  • Assists with Disproportionate Share day calculation as required for current cost report.
  • Assists with preparation of workpapers required for appeals and reopenings of prior cost reports, as needed.
  • Assists Reimbursement Director with Net Revenue Projects
  • Along with reconciling and posting journal entries needed during monthend close for Net Revenue. Greets guests in accordance to our Guest Excellence principles.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required or directed.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS : EDUCATION :

EDUCATION :

Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance.

LICENSURE, REGISTRATION, CERTIFICATION :

Certified Public Accountant preferred, but not required.

EXPERIENCE :

Healthcare accounting / reimbursement experience preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :

Knowledge of third party reimbursement programs. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
