Job Description

Responsible for recruiting blood donors by establishing mobile blood drives, managing, and organizing all aspects of recruitment.

Duties and Responsibilities

Employees must comply with traffic legislation, be conscious of road safety, demonstrate safe driving, and other good road safety habits while driving their personal vehicle for work purposes.

• Recruits, schedules, and coordinates blood drives to help meet departmental goals with emphasis on projection accuracy, blood inventory needs, and customer service
• Promotes blood donation in assigned territory by conducting educational presentations to civic groups, churches, schools, and other organizations
• Develops and maintains relationships with donor chairpersons
• Provides excellent customer service to host organizations, donors, and other members of the community
• Conducts recruitment strategy meeting with donor groups
• Identifies opportunity for growth within assigned territory and solicits and recruits new donor groups
• Maintains current information in Traxwell database for all sponsors within assigned territory.

Qualifications

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree required or (see experience)

EXPERIENCE: 4-5 years of equivalent work experience required. Experience in non-profit recruitment preferred

SKILLS:

• Language skills must include reading, writing, and speaking English effectively and following oral and written instructions consistent with policies and procedures, SOPs, or other requirements
• Ability to make sound decisions under pressure
• Effective planning and organizational skills
• Ability to function as a critical/key team member in a high-level production environment coupled with strong organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and to meet deadlines
• Demonstrate ability to work without direct supervision
• Must be able to make simple decisions based on well-defined choices
• Ability to communicate effectively with the staff and the public to enhance Lifeline’s relationship with the community
• Basic computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel

Working Conditions

Functions are regularly performed inside and/or outside with potential for exposure to adverse conditions, such as inclement weather, atmospheric elements, and pathogenic substances. Performance of this job could expose the employee to blood-borne pathogens. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.

Physical Requirements

Employee is required to stand, walk, sit, and the ability to lift a minimum of 10 pounds.
