Position Overview: As a Radiology Support Specialist at West Texas Health, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operations of our radiology department. This in-office position requires someone with strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. The successful candidate will be responsible for various tasks, including setting up patient and radiology exams in the RIS/PACS system, obtaining prior imaging exams from external facilities, and providing timely reports and images to patients and referring doctors.

Qualifications:

• Medical office experience preferred but not required.
• Avid problem-solving skills.
• High personal initiative and ability to work independently.
• Extreme attention to detail.

Required Skills:

• Familiarity with fax, printer, copier operations.
• Proficient in sorting and organizing tasks.
• Ability to operate and troubleshoot various office equipment.
• Experience in burning CDs.
• Strong computer skills.
• Excellent phone skills.
• Ability to multitask effectively.
• Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new software.

Responsibilities:

• Set up patients and radiology exams in the RIS/PACS system.
• Provide reports and/or images to patients and referring doctors upon request.
• Confirm reports were received by referring physicians in case of critical findings.
• Obtain prior imaging exams from other facilities.
• Coordinate procedures and workload to ensure efficient department operations.
• Maintain reports in PACS, Magview, and Athena systems.
• Follow PHI and HIPAA organizational policies and guidelines.
• Schedule exams.
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as requested.

Preferred Experience:

• Knowledge of radiology department operations.
• Familiarity with PACS/RIS systems.
