PENDLETON COUNTY SCHOOLS SUMMER SUCCESS ACADEMY TEACHER JOB DESCRIPTION
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: On an as needed basis. Not to exceed 16 days for the Summer of 2024: 2 days for preparation and 1 day for closing starting May 30, 2024.
SALARY RANGE: Based on WV Professional Scale for Teachers; No Holiday Pay
TOTAL COMPENSATION:Salary based on experience and education level per CBOE salary schedule plus competitive benefits package equal to approximately 35% of direct compensation. Please use the following link for further details Benefits and Salaries | Pendleton County Schools.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Possesses a West Virginia Teaching Certificate/will consider persons who hold a Substitute Permit
Three years of teaching experience preferred.
Proficient with technology and data analysis.
Effective organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with staff, parents, and students.
REPORTS TO:
Director of Curriculum and Instruction
TEACHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work collaboratively with school administration, support personnel, colleagues, and parents to carry out scientifically based research intervention and enrichment programs.
Meet with Summer Success Academy staff to review data and determine grouping and appropriate pathways for effective instruction in areas of need.
Keep weekly lesson plans and anecdotal records on individual students.
Provide intensive reading and/or math intervention instruction based on student need.
Administer pre and post assessments to individual students.
Prepare lesson plans based on student needs determined by data.
Track attendance and student progress.
Report attendance and student progress to the Summer Success Academy Coordinator.
Foster a classroom climate conducive to learning.
Maintain accurate complete, and appropriate records and files in a well-organized manner.
Utilize instructional management systems which increases student learning and maximizes time on task.
Implement technology related initiatives that guide intervention efforts.
Communicate effectively within the educational community and with parents on a regular basis.
Meet professional responsibilities.
Maintain professional work habits.
Promote and maintain positive pupil-teacher-parent relationships.
Adhere to the teacher code of conduct.
Motivate students and get them excited about learning.
Maintain confidentiality of student information.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Director of Curriculum and Instruction.
