Below, you'll find other important information about this position.Responsible for all education and training initiatives and offerings for the Critical Care and Trauma Institute under the direction of the Administrative Director and the Executive Director. This will include but is not limited to coordinating for the delivery of training and education programs both within the hospital and the community at large; expanding the training audience for outreach programs; ensuring all educational programs and materials are of the highest quality; identifying new training and educational opportunities for the advancement of the skills of hospital staff and critical care providers across West Virginia and the Unites States and understanding and providing budget requirements in support of educational and training programs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. Bachelor's degree in Education, Health Care Administration, Nursing.

EXPERIENCE:

1. One year supporting the delivery of educational programs in an adult learning model environment.

2. One year of experience in the development of educational programs and course materials.

3. Three years in an administrative, business administration or medical education role.

PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. Master's degree in Education, Health Care Administration, Nursing, or a related field.

2. Three years' experience in delivering educational programs in an adult learning environment in the healthcare field, preferred.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. 1. Coordinate the development and delivery of educational programs to expand the critical care workforce in West Virginia and the Nation.

2. Coordinate the development and delivery of educational programs designed to maintain the competency of current and future critical care clinicians.

3. Assist leadership in the development of an over-arching educational program that allows WVUH to become a National leader in critical care education.

4. Maintain awareness and implementation of the latest educational and instructional methods used to advance critical care education throughout the healthcare industry.

5. Maintain educational calendars and conduct necessary coordination with appropriate departments within the Hospital and the University to eliminate resource conflicts related to classroom, lab and training supply use.

6. Assist leadership in the development and expansion of improvement of Physician GME training programs in critical care.

7. Assist leadership in the development of non-GME physician training programs in critical care.

8. Coordinate with the School of Nursing and the office of Advanced Practitioners to develop an acute care APP program.

9. Understand and make recommendations as to the use of simulation to improve critical care team training across all provider levels.

10. Plan, schedule and resource all facilities, instructors and course material in support of Critical Care and Trauma Institute educational initiatives.

11. Maintain all administrative requirements for course completion, certification, CEU credits, and course rosters associated with training and education delivered by the Institute.

12. Participate as a key member of the Critical Care and Trauma Institute Education Committee.

13. Assist in the assessment of all educational programs ensuring course standards, certification requirements and learning objectives are met to the highest of standards.

14. Ensures all educational products and practice management guides are readily available to all physicians and accessible to outside organizations as necessary.

15. Executes all required paperwork and processes necessary to onboard and orient new Fellows to the critical care team as directed.

16. Develop assessment tools for each educational program and build/administer a data repository for each program regarding attendees and results from data assessment for use in curriculum improvement.

17. Provide quarterly/semi-annual reports to appropriate physician leads for each program or course of instruction.

18. Coordinate with Hospital and School of Medicine representatives to develop, design and implement effective method of communication/marketing both internal and external for each educational program.

19. Work with program and course leadership to develop and submit budget requirements for each program of instruction. Ensure appropriate expenditure of all approved budgets.

20. Maintain and update the educational sections and pages associated with the CC&TI websites and SOLE educational sites as required to ensure accurate advertising and .

21. Identify, apply for and maintain accountability as required for appropriate grants that could support educational offerings within the CC&TI.

22. Work with appropriate government agencies to coordinate current military training programs and expand educational offerings within the DoD as opportunities arise.

23. Develop and Implement a database for assessments from the Fresh Tissue Training Lab - provide semi-annual reports to Leadership as directed.
