What You'll Do

• Develop a strategy for working with individuals, non-governmental organizations, government bodies and communities to provide transactional legal assistance
• Develops and Manages relationships with non-governmental organizations, government agencies and communities.
• Establish and implement policies, goals, objectives, and procedures for the Clinic, conferring with the Director, law school administration, and staff members as necessary.
• Oversee work activities of Staff Attorneys
• Draft and review legal documents and instruments
• Train and supervise law students
• Manage Support staff in preparation of work schedules and assignments of specific duties
• Determine staffing requirements, interview, hire, and train new employees
• Provide administrative oversight, support grant reporting and management of budgets and timelines and projects.

• J.D. From ABA - accredited law school.
• A minimum of 12 years of experience in practicing law.

The WVURC was created as a not-for-profit corporation in 1985 to support research (R1) at West Virginia University. We provide evaluation, development, patenting, management, and marketing services for inventions of the faculty, staff and students of the University.

The WVURC receives and administers funds awarded by external agencies for research and other activities and is responsible for helping protect intellectual property through patents, copyrights and licensing agreements for start-up companies based on University research.
