West Volusia Family & Sports Medicine is Hiring a Phlebotomist Near Orange, FL

Salary:

West Volusia Family and Sports Medicine is actively seeking a qualified Phlebotomist to join our growing Primary Care office with offices located in Deland and Orange City, FL. This is a full-time position with Saturday shifts included. You will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic team focusing in the areas of Family and Sports medicine. 

General Duties include:

  • Performs phlebotomy using proper technique and universal precautions.
  • Ensures lab specimens are sent to proper labs.
  • Documents patient care services utilizing daily logs, patient records, and appropriate outside laboratory forms.
  • Comforts patients by anticipating anxieties, answering questions, providing support
  • Collect and organize blood, tissue, and other bodily fluid samples from patients
  • Prepare samples for routine testing and analysis
  • Properly record results for further analysis and easy reference 
  • Monitor inventory samples and supplies
  • Maintain a clean work environment
  • Work under the supervision of a medical technologist

Experience:

  • Phlebotomy: 1 year
  • Previous experience as a clinical technician or in other related fields
  • Familiarity with common medical terminology
  • Experience in a laboratory setting 
  • Strong organizational skills

An ideal candidate will have excellent time management and organizational skills. This position requires independent judgment as well as the ability to work closely with a team of clinicians. Applicants must have excellent interpersonal skills; capable of multi-tasking and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment; computer and telephone skills required.
