SUMMARY

Westbay Community Action, Inc. is seeking to hire a Weatherization Auditor. Auditors to perform all aspects of an energy audit to address each house's energy efficiency and health and safety needs in accordance with Weatherization Program guidelines and in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

BPI credentials or experience in the home performance industry are preferred. Westbay will pay for additional required Weatherization certifications.

This full-time (37.5 hrs/week, M-F) Weatherization Auditor position starts at a base pay rate of $25 per hour. This rate will increase as additional required certifications are obtained.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years experience working in a Weatherization Program and/or construction work
  • OSHA 10 Certificate, preferred or willing to obtain within 2 months of hire
  • Certified Lead Renovator and 1-year experience working as lead renovator preferred
  • Demonstrated experience working with HVAC
  • Building Analyst (BA) certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire
  • Once BA certification is obtained, must complete Energy Auditor (EA) training within 6 months. EA testing and certification are required within 12 months of completing EA training.
  • Valid, unrestricted Driver’s License.
  • Pass BCI, Background check, including Motor Vehicle Report and 5-panel lab drug test

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

  • Interact with homeowners, tenants, and potential clients regarding energy efficiency
  • Interview potential clients, complete program applications
  • Evaluate assigned homes and complete energy audits
  • Assign work orders to approved contractors and monitor their work
  • Perform post-inspections of homes where work has been completed
  • Ability to maintain complete and organized accurate files for all assigned tasks and program areas, ensuring that the files follow all Federal, State, and Agency guidelines and requirements
  • Accurately and timely submit all WAP-required documents, spreadsheets, and reports for review
  • Complete detailed and accurate data collection and measurements to enter into the Software database timely
  • Remain up to date with all state and local building and safety codes
  • Ability to comprehend a variety of reference books and manuals, including RI WAP/IES manual
  • Act as liaison between clients and contractors
  • Participant in monitoring performed by DHS and program funders
  • Maintain agency vehicle in good condition and follow scheduled maintenance plans
  • Maintain and secure all WAP equipment and supplies
  • Participate in a continuous training plan to maintain required certifications

The employee must be able to work in small, closed spaces such as crawl spaces, attics, and basements. The individual must be willing to work in the client’s home and the community.
