Westchester Jewish Community Services is Hiring a Trauma Therapist/VOCA Near Hartsdale, NY

OverviewUnder general supervision of the TLC Clinical Supervisor, the VOCA Trauma Therapist provides trauma-specific mental health services to community members with psychiatric diagnoses and are requiring services offered by a licensed mental health facility. This position is grant funded through the Victims of Crime Act (VOCA).
For the ideal candidate, our team offers flexibility on whether this will be a full-time (up to 35 hours) or part-time (at least 21 hours) position. The exact schedule will be determined based on mutual agreement. The compensation range is $30.22 - $40.11 per hour.
ResponsibilitiesAs a valued member of our team, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Conducting comprehensive intake assessments and developing a collaborative treatment plan.
  • Providing appropriate clinical documentation, grant required and agency reports (e.g., clinician’s schedule, monthly stats) in a timely manner.
  • Providing treatment in various modalities, including individual, family, and group therapy, if needed, and in coordination with supervisor, for ongoing treatment cases.
  • Providing therapy for victims of crime in the CVASSP (VOCA) program.
  • Updating the program tracking tool weekly.
  • Maintaining communication with the CVASSP (Crime Victims Advocacy and Support Services Program) team and advocates.
  • Other duties as assigned.
RequirementsWe are seeking candidates who possess the following qualifications:
  • Masters Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling or Marriage and Family Therapy from an accredited school.
  • Possession of or eligible for license to practice social work in New York State (LMSW, LCSW, LMFT or LMHC).
  • Knowledge of current principles and techniques of social work.
  • Knowledge of/skill with at least one evidence-based practice for treating adults and one for children.
  • Effective time management skills in order to meet or exceed monthly productivity requirements.
  • Ability to conduct interviews to obtain social and medical information necessary to perform clinical evaluation.
  • Ability to analyze and summarize psycho-social information.
  • Strong observational skills for the purpose of analysis and treatment.
  • Excellent writing and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Willingness to work within client’s social context, including home, school or community setting, when needed.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish Preferred.
