Westchester Medical Center is Hiring a Quality Manager Near Valhalla, NY

Job Summary: The Quality Manager is responsible for the activities of data abstraction, quality improvement, and outcomes reporting for the department that are required for regulatory registries and various organizational committees. The Quality Manager will review the quality metrics and support the multidisciplinary clinical teams to review processes and make improvements as identified and needed. The data will be collected and submitted effectively and timely according to required deadlines. The Quality Manager supports and collaborates with the health care program staff in the implementation of best practices of documentation and assist in the quality improvement initiatives, which maximizes quality and safe care to all patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates data and quality improvement activities for the department of Cardiology, including maintaining departmental quality dashboards, and presentations
  • Oversees proper documentation of physicians and staff for the different requirements NYSDOH and ACC.and other registries of the department. Provides real-time feedback and education to the teams.
  • Abstracts clinical data from the EHR real time to ensure clinical team is providing standard of care, and enters into the various department required registries and regulatory agency sites, including but not limited to American College of Cardiology and NYSDOH.
  • Maintains STEMI database including D2B times for the clinical Cath Lab / ED collaborative.
  • Utilizes cardiology IT programs, sites and analytics to collect volume and quality data (i.e ISCV, Cognos, NCDR, and NYSDOH).
  • Collaborates with the clinical team to analyze data and identify areas for opportunity of improvement and support in implementation, action plans and follow-up activities
  • Prepares and maintains outcome metric presentation for the different sections of the department to be presented at hospital committees, and Department of Cardiology annual Quality Summit
  • Collaborates with clinical and administrative teams to ensure processes for patient care are streamlined and efficient to maximize productivity
  • Participates on departmental and organization committees and participates when required
  • Participate in the registry and regulatory ongoing sessions and annual conferences. Communicates and implements required updates.
  • Collaborates in development of action plans to optimize work flows for care to ensure seamless access and care for patients.
  • Assists department with goal setting and prioritization
  • Assist in the policy management for up-to-date systems and utilizes template.
  • Communicates data and quality outcomes internally to staff within the departments as well as through the quality and safety department, and quality committee of the board.
  • Coordinates departmental quality meetings

Meeting scheduling, agenda and minutes and necessary follow-up

  • Creates Excel spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations; prepares reports with data for quality
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

Experience: Experience in healthcare setting with preferred knowledge of Cardiology, registry and regulatory agencies.

Education:  

Bachelors Degree, required, Masters/Graduate degree, preferred.
