Job Description Summary:
The Supply Technician Lead oversees and performs technical supply management duties within the Installation Property Book Office (IPBO), working under the general supervision of the SSA Division Manager. This leadership position involves overseeing and guiding a team of supply technicians while ensuring the efficient and compliant management of property and supply actions. Responsibilities include asset requisition, receipt, inventory management, asset tracking, and coordinating supply activities in compliance with Army regulations and operational procedures. The Supply Technician Lead plays a key role in supporting property book operations, including the management of expendable and durable property and ensuring adherence to DOD, Army, Navy, and Air Force regulations.
The Supply Technician Lead plays a key leadership role in managing property book operations and supervising a team of supply technicians. This position requires strong organizational, leadership, and technical skills to ensure the accurate and efficient management of supply activities. The Supply Technician Lead will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulations, managing inventory, and supporting the overall success of supply operations while leading a team in a dynamic work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee a team of supply technicians in performing day-to-day supply operations, ensuring compliance with established procedures.
- Provide training, guidance, and support to junior supply technicians in carrying out tasks related to asset requisition, receipt, inventory, issue, redistribution, and turn-in.
- Ensure the team adheres to all safety, security, and environmental regulations in handling, storing, and processing supplies.
- Resolve issues related to supply discrepancies, inventory shortages, or non-compliance, and ensure corrective actions are taken in a timely manner.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of supply technicians, providing feedback, coaching, and assistance as needed.
- Oversee the management of asset requisition, receipt, short-term holding, issue, and redistribution for all Classes II, IV, V, VII, expendable, and durable property.
- Coordinate and track inventory, ensuring all records are updated and maintained accurately using Army supply systems (GCSS-A, AESIP, MIW, FMFWEB, ISM).
- Maintain asset tracking records, hand receipts, and reconcile discrepancies to ensure the accuracy of property book transactions.
- Lead the inventory process and support the regular auditing of assets to ensure compliance with established quality control procedures.
- Ensure all supply activities comply with DOD, Army, Navy, and Air Force regulations, as well as standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Monitor quality control procedures and ensure the team follows guidelines for asset handling, classification, storage, and disposal.
- Review and process supply transactions, ensuring all actions are documented accurately and in compliance with Army regulations.
- Conduct regular checks on physical security, safety, and environmental standards related to supply operations.
- Support contract-related requirements in areas such as environmental, safety, and security as directed by the SSA Manager.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure supply actions meet operational requirements.
- Assist in the development of supply plans and strategies to meet operational needs and ensure continuity of operations.
- Utilize Army Automated Information Technology (AIT) systems, including GCSS-A, AESIP, MIW, FMFWEB, and ISM, to track and manage supply actions and generate required reports.
- Maintain accurate records of all property book transactions, including asset requisition, receipt, redistribution, turn-in, and inventory.
- Prepare and submit reports related to asset status, inventory management, and supply operations to senior leadership.
- Ensure that supply operations comply with safety standards, including the proper handling of hazardous materials, personal protective equipment (PPE), and environmental safety protocols.
- Assist in emergency response planning and execution related to supply chain management.
Qualifications/Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- High school diploma preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Army Property Book operations or related supply functions.
- Experience overseeing and leading a team of supply technicians is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with Army property book systems and operations, including asset management, inventory control, and requisitioning.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with Army supply systems (GCSS-A, AESIP, MIW, FMFWEB, ISM) is preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Excellent multitasking skills and ability to manage a variety of supply tasks simultaneously.
- Must be able to obtain a favorable background screen.
- Must possess a valid Hawaii State driver’s license.
