Lead Consultant

The Role:

The Lead Functional Consultant Role is a key position within the team, responsible for leading a group of functional staff members. This role primarily involves billable work while also encompassing administrative tasks related to team management. Key responsibilities include conducting annual performance reviews, providing coaching and feedback, managing employee satisfaction issues, building and maintaining growth plans, evaluating skill sets, driving company goals and initiatives, and achieving proper utilization rates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct Management of Functional Staff:
    • Serve as the direct supervisor for a team of functional staff members, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure their success and development.
  • Billable Resource and Administrative Tasks:
    • Perform billable work within the team's functional area while also handling administrative tasks related to team management, such as coaching, resource allocation, and performance tracking.
  • Annual Performance Reviews:
    • Conduct annual performance reviews for team members, providing constructive feedback, setting goals, and identifying areas for improvement or development.
  • Coaching and Growth Development:
    • Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to team members to support their professional growth and performance enhancement.
    • Develop and maintain growth plans for team members, outlining opportunities for skill development, career advancement, and personal growth.
    • Evaluate the skill sets of team members regularly to identify strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement, and take appropriate actions to address them.
  • Employee Satisfaction Management:
    • Address and manage employee satisfaction issues, ensuring a positive and productive work environment for all team members.
  • Driving Company Goals and Initiatives:
    • Align team efforts with company goals and initiatives, driving progress and contributing to the overall success of the organization.
  • Utilization Rate Achievement:
    • Ensure proper utilization rates are achieved optimizing resource allocation and project profitability.

Who you are:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; additional certifications or advanced degrees are a plus.
  • Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role, preferably within a professional services environment.
  • Strong understanding of the functional area and relevant industry standards and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and manage employee development.
