Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine is Hiring a Psychologist Near Kalamazoo, MI

WMU Homer Stryker MD School of Medicine is looking for an experienced Psychologist to join the Pediatric and Adolescent medicine team. The psychologist will provide a combination of services with a primary emphasis on psychological testing as well as integrated behavioral health, and medical resident education. The psychologist will serve as a member of the Pediatric Psychology team.
This 32 hour per week position is funded by a grant through the Health Resources and Services Administration for Primary Care Training and Enhancement - Residency Training in Mental and Behavioral Health.
  • Responsible for providing psychological testing services, integrated behavioral health services, and medical resident education within the Divison of Pediatric Psychology and general pediatric clinics.
  • Responsible for conducting comprehensive psychological evaluations including, administration, scoring, and interpretation of psychological assessments.
  • Responsible for the documention of patient care per clinic standards.
  • Maintain continuing educational credits as required for license.
  • Availability to work on weekends or evenings to complete time sensitive projects.
  • Acquires knowledge for new technology and policy/procedure revisions.
  • All other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • Master’s or doctoral degree in counseling and/or clinical psychology from an accredited APA program.
  • Experience in psychological testing and brief/short-term psychological interventions.
  • Knowledge of the Michigan Mental Health Code and the laws and regulations governing Pediatrics is necessary.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, CERTIFICATIONS
  • One of the following Valid Michigan licenses is required for this position
    • Psychologist License (LP),
    • Psychologist - Doctoral Educational Limited License(DLLP),
    • Psychologist - Doctoral Temporary Educational Limited License Master’s Limited Psychologist License (DTLLP)
    • Master's Limited Psychologist (LLP) or
    • Master’s Limited Psychologist – Temporary License (TLLP) Psychology.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Knowledge and proficiency in EMR.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in word processing and file management using Microsoft Office and other software as required by the department.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in grammar and spelling skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with others verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to interpret, comprehends, and transmits complicated and detailed instructions accurately.
  • Demonstrates the ability to recognize priorities in organization of workflow.
  • Able to perform duties independently, with a minimal need for direct supervision.
