Job Description
The Tax Accountant is responsible for daily workflow and information as required by federal, state, and local governmental taxing authorities, with a focus on organization, accuracy, and timeliness. The primary function is to assist management with the Income and Property Tax functions which include preparation and review of tax returns and estimated payments, facilitating tax payments, due date monitoring, audit and notice response, and general support of the tax team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare federal and state corporate, individual, non-profit, and partnership returns
• Calculate and facilitate payment for quarterly estimated tax payments for federal and state purposes
• Assist in handling federal, state, and local tax notices and audits
• Manage property tax function including real estate and tangible personal property (bill paying and compliance processes)
• Track payment due dates, prepare annual billings, and maintain master list of parcels with real estate data metrics
• Ensure that real estate and personal property tax payments are paid accurately and timely by due date
• Prepare and maintain complete and accurate work paper documentation
• Managing daily tasks from the tax team
• Work as a liaison between different departments

Qualifications
Education and Experience:

• 1-3 years of tax experience in public accounting or comparable industry experience
• Four-year degree in accounting/finance or equivalent work experience in accounting or tax (Master's degree or professional certifications, such as CPA or EA is a plus)
• Detail-oriented, well-organized with strong communication skills
• Experience within real estate and the timeshare industry is a plus
• Knowledge and use of CCH Axcess/Prosystem Fx Tax is a plus
