Agoura Hills, CA Office | On-site roleJob DescriptionWestlake is looking for talented professionals to fill an open position as a Credit Dispute Expert. This position responds to Credit Disputes and ID Theft claims received through direct and indirect means from our consumers.
Responsibilities
- Investigate and respond to direct and indirect (e-OSCAR) disputes according to department procedures and by department deadlines.
- Research and resolve ID Theft investigations per department procedures.
- Research and resolve credit bureau disputes per department procedures.
- Validate or update reporting of consumer debt in e-OSCAR using the AUD process.
- Provide written documentation to consumers, as evidence of how their accounts are reported, upon request (and per department procedures, using department letter templates)
- Retain evidence of the credit bureau dispute investigation, as required by FCRA.
- May be required to communicate with consumers and/or originators directly to obtain additional information to aid in credit dispute or ID Theft analyses.
- Works effectively as part of a team atmosphere to perform duties and achieve daily operational goals.
- Perform additional duties as needed within the department.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED), College diploma preferred.
- 2 years of experience responding to Credit Disputes or conducting ID Theft investigations.
- Consumer Finance experience preferred but not required.
- Excellent understanding of Metro 2 reporting guidelines, the AUD process and the e-Oscar portal, per the CDIA guidelines and instructions from the CRAs.
- Possess good knowledge of credit reporting responsibilities as defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
- Ability to follow a standard path of resolution and determine when and if the standard path is not applicable to the current situation.
- $45,000 - $65,000 per year
- The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire and will be dependent on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to geographic location, skill set, experience, education, credentials, and licensure when applicable.
