Job DescriptionRole Title: Operations Officer, Financial Markets & Treasury
Role location: New York

This opportunity sits in our New York office working for Westpac Institutional Bank, the division of Westpac, which services the needs of our corporate, institutional, and governmental clients.
How will I help?Operational processing across Corporate Lending and Financial Markets functions with a focus on servicing London and New York locations with global support of the Nightshift team in Australia.
  • Daily Operational processing across Financial Markets and Corporate Lending ensuring all payment, loan origination, loan servicing, confirmation, reconciliation, and investigation obligations have been met and customer service levels are maintained at the highest level
  • Appropriate escalation to Supervisor and Manager of any issues
  • Ensure checklist is accurately completed and escalation of any items that have not been actioned
  • Work closely with peers to ensure process consistency and effective handover to the next shift
  • Actively and positively engage in ‘huddles’ and formal team meetings
  • Ensure inputs into Control IQ (Productivity system) and Error Capture System (ECS) are timely, consistent, and accurate
  • Work with the Manager to write and maintain up to date Standard Operating Procedures for all processes
  • Actively engage in cross training within the team because of business needs and/or career development
  • Embrace change initiatives and work to implement them as seamlessly as possible within the required risk framework and change management process
  • Identify opportunities for system and process enhancements and communicate to your Supervisor/Manager for review, prioritisation and recording in IGNITE

Fixed Comp Range of 80,000 USD to 95,000 USD
What do I need?
  • Minimum 2 years banking operations experience
  • Specific product knowledge advantageous (Bonds, Derivatives, FX)
  • Specific system knowledge advantageous (Euroclear, Murex, Calypso)
  • Degree qualification preferred
  • Excellent focus on attention to detail with the capability to work and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Energetic and motivated, able to work well inside a group and broadly across an organisation
  • Confident and articulate communicator
  • Positive and enthusiastic approach to acquiring product and systems knowledge
