Ministry Area Purpose:
Operations exists to serve the body of Westwood with innovation, transparency, and objectivity.
Role:
To deliver accurate and timely financial reporting to Westwood staff & leadership through the development and oversight of accounting systems and processes in collaboration with the Director of Finance and Operations.
Responsibilities:
· Prepare financial statements for distribution to Staff, Leadership Board, and financial institutions, having completed monthly reconciliations, asset additions, and journal entries.
· Manage various bank accounts including cash flow monitoring, account transfers, and monthly reconciliations.
· Assist and provide clarification when inquiries are made by staff and congregation about accounting and financial issues.
· Provide financial analyses as needed, including giving patterns, comparison of budget to actual, comparison of current year to previous years, etc.
· Recruit, train, schedule and manage Accounting Volunteers.
· Oversee weekly Accounts Payable process managed by Accounting Associate including invoice approval, p-card approvals, and A/P software management.
· Oversee the weekly processing of contributions and miscellaneous cash deposits managed by Accounting Associate including deposit review, reconciliations, and donor database software management.
· Assist the Director of Finance and Operations with the Annual Budget process including budget software management, staff training, and chart of account preparation and distribution.
· Manage Westwood’s Café POS system.
· Oversee the weekly recording of donations and expenses for the Open Hands Foundation (a supporting 501c3 of Westwood) managed by Accounting Associate and the Open Hands Foundation treasurer.
· Coordinate annual financial audit with external accounting firm.
· Miscellaneous projects, as assigned, including assisting with generosity initiatives, processing stock and gift in kind donations, and assisting with special seasonal offerings.
· Prepare and update Accounting Procedures and Guidelines, including staff training.
· Carry out other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor

Requirements
· Someone who lives a life that honors God in heart, actions, and relationships, with the goal of becoming more like Jesus.
· Three to five years accounting experience including experience in running the complete financial cycle. Experience with fund accounting a plus.
· Organized and detail oriented.
· Bachelor’s degree (desired).
· Proficient with Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel Spreadsheets.
· Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial analysis, and trends.
· Analytical thinking with strong problem-solving skills.
· Demonstrated ability to work under deadlines and maintain attention to detail.
· Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
· Excellent interpersonal skills with all audiences.
· Ability to develop, supervise and coach employees and volunteers in the ministry area.
· Endorse and support Westwood’s Statement of Faith
· Maintain regular attendance in a local church
