CUMULUS MEDIA | KANSAS CITY A rare opportunity to join legendary KCMO Talk Radio 710/95.7 FM. KCMO Talk Radio is adding LOCAL programming to weekday afternoon drive. This is not your Grandpa’s Talk Show! We are looking for a Talk Star, defined as creating compelling and engaging content each day that hits the mark of our commitment and focus: “If it’s happening in KC, MO, it’s on KCMO!”
Qualified candidates will fully engage in the community. The show content is all about local stories in Kansas City and how those impact the lives of our audience. Local news, local politics, local culture, local teams. …hey, it doesn’t hurt that the two-time, back-to-back Champions are local! This host must specialize in the creation of content and discussions for today’s talk radio audience with an appetite for strong opinions. Mastery using phones and social media to drive engagement with best-in-class daily habits required. The right professional entertainer delivers these requirements with passion and humor. Video experience and/or podcast experience is a plus, and both will be key components of this role. While being well prepped is crucial, the ability to pivot fast and cover breaking local or national news with sound judgment is crucial.

Key Responsibilities
- Station ambassador: Go-to personality on and off the air
- Social content creator: engaging posts, video, and podcast
- Collaborator: with producer, programming, sales, and clients
- Grow station ratings, revenue, and engagement with the audience
- Maximize phone caller exposure and use guests to entertain and engage regular people
- Best-in-class service for existing advertisers and engage with sales to grow revenue and create solutions for clients
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years’ experience hosting a full-time show with a history of ratings success.
- Socially informed and perceptive, imaginative, and creative, resourceful, up-to-date and intuitively tuned into current trends locally and nationally.
- Works well in a team environment; collaborative
- Strong production skills
- Proficient with Op-X (or with other radio automation systems), VOX Pro (or similar DAWs).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Experience with social media platforms and have a strategy for making them effective.
- Demo/aircheck of on-air work, social media handles and commercial samples must be included with your online profile/application.
