WGM Group is seeking a Construction Representative to join our dynamic planning and design firm in Missoula, MT located in the beautiful Northern Rockies. WGM Group is a comprehensive multi-disciplinary civil engineering firm including planning & design, survey, environmental and natural resource management with office locations in Bozeman, Kalispell, Missoula, and Hamilton.
This position is responsible for a wide range of construction administration, observation, documentation, and estimating during the construction phase of civil engineering projects. This role will generally work with project managers on a variety of projects and may be involved early in the design process and throughout project construction and closeout.
Role & Responsibilities:
As an integral player in our firm, you will:
- Coordinate and monitor of all infrastructure construction and schedule for wet/dry utilities, site dirt work, grading, sewer, water, stormwater, ponds, curb and gutter, sidewalk, roads and conduct weekly progress meetings.
- Perform schedule, shop drawing, constructability and final plan reviews.
- Complete construction estimating, take off and project bidding of all construction phases and scheduling.
- Write contracts and special provisions.
- Perform construction observation for contract compliance such as inspecting underground utilities, testing, major concrete pours, checking geotechnical work, construction changes, check shop drawings, general work progress, and photos.
- Coordinate testing efforts with subconsultants and contractor.
- Complete daily and monthly reports including work progress to date, percent completion, amount of contract spent, review schedules, approve pay applications.
- Coordinate with PMs and assist with design efforts as assigned.
- Coordinate project field orders and change orders.
Qualifications:
As a valued member of our team, you will have at a minimum:
- Bachelor’s Degree in construction management, civil engineering, surveying, or a related field.
- Two (2) or more years of job-related work experience.
- Experience in the construction industry.
- Ability to interpret schematics or engineering sketches.
- Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize and work within tight deadlines.
- Strong ability to work in a team and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Keen attention to detail and an aptitude for problem-solving.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team.
- Knowledge of computer hardware and software programs such as Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Knowledge of the utility industry (water, sewer, storm drain).
Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Skill in AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
- Experience in the civil field preferred.
