In This Role, You Would Typically
- Plan, organize, implement, and direct Quality and Test team members and material resources to assure delivery of products and services that fulfills the customer's needs and expectations
- Establish Quality goals, work plans, and budgets such that lowest cost and highest quality results are achieved
- Assure that business activities comply with all applicable government regulations and contract requirements
- Assure audit of areas of responsibility for conformance to quality plans, systems, and requirements
- Direct company actions to maintain and renew AS9100 and AS9110 certifications
- Serve as the Management Representative for all Quality audits and inspections
- Provide quality plans and metrics to monitor and report division results
- Direct process/product improvement programs and provide process method excellence throughout the organization
- Identify relevant quality-related training needs and develop methods to deliver this training
- Develop a work environment that fosters open and honest communications to continuously instill confidence and credibility by actively engaging the workforce
- Select, hire, train, and provide ongoing leadership of assigned personnel to meet objectives and organizational goals
- Recruit, manage, motivate, and develop staff in assigned area to ensure individual and team effectiveness
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business or a science-related field from an accredited university or college
- 5 years' experience within a highly regulated environment
- Prior experience in a leadership role to cross-functional teams
- Ability to travel up to 10%
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Eligibility for any required authorizations from the US government, to conform with US export regulations and ITAR 120.15 and EAR Part 772.
We Would Really Like To See
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering preferred
- Extensive working knowledge/experience of AS9100, AS9110 and/or ISO9001
- Working knowledge of DO178 and DO254 standard requirements
- Additional leadership experience in the areas of Operations or Manufacturing is preferred
- Bias for action. Ability to spontaneously recognize problems and opportunities. Ability to drive problem resolution and follow through to completions.
- Results oriented. Drives to achieve both short- and long-term goals.
- Customer focused. Driven to meet the needs of both internal and external customers.
- Must be a "hands-on" type of leader, able to interface on the shop floor, along with senior leadership and customers - all equally well.
- Expertise in Quality Control concepts and their application
- Ability to develop a strong network of relationships both internally and externally
- Ability to communicate (orally and in writing) professionally to common inquiries or complaints from customers and regulatory agencies
- High degree of professionalism, detail orientation, high productivity, flexibility, and enthusiasm
- Proven ability to solve complex problems
- Six Sigma Black Belt or other Quality certification
- Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions
- Requires wearing common protective or safety equipment
- Includes exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable
- Requires repetitive movement
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
