The RoleMy client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Unity Programmer with a proven experience working on networking and generalist programming in the games sector. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in the gaming industry, demonstrating expertise in Unity game engine.
Responsibilities
  • Game Development: Collaborate with designers and artists to implement gameplay features, mechanics, and systems within Unity.
  • Programming: Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code in C# to implement game functionalities such as player controls, AI behaviors, physics interactions, and UI elements.
  • Unity Development: Utilize Unity's tools and APIs to create and optimize game systems, including scripting, animation, physics, audio, and visual effects.
  • Networking: Implement real-time communication protocols to ensure low latency and high reliability for seamless multiplayer interactions. Develop scalable server architecture capable of handling large volumes of concurrent connections while maintaining optimal performance for online gaming experiences.
  • Prototyping: Rapidly prototype and iterate on game concepts to test mechanics, gameplay flow, and user experience.
  • Optimization: Profile and optimize code, assets, and game systems to ensure smooth performance across different platforms and devices.
  • Bug Fixing: Identify and resolve software bugs, performance issues, and gameplay problems to maintain a stable and enjoyable player experience.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including artists, designers, and other programmers, to integrate assets, implement features, and troubleshoot issues.
  • Documentation: Document code, systems, and workflows to facilitate knowledge sharing, onboarding of new team members, and future maintenance.
  • Research: Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to incorporate innovative solutions and improve development processes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Game Development, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in game development and programming.
  • Experience in Networking and/ OR optimization.
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as C .
  • Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills.
  • Shipped at least 1 PC title.
  • Passion for gaming and a deep understanding of player experiences on console platforms
  • Photon Realtime experience would also be an added bonus, but not a necessity.
