Position Summary

As a core member of the Global People Team you are tasked with helping White & Case translate our business strategy into talent imperatives that deliver on our 2025 vision of profitable growth, engaged people and outstanding client relationships.
The People Advisory Coordinator supports the People Advisory team, across a variety of both administrative and strategic HR priorities. You will act as the first line of HR administrative support for our employees across both the Firm's legal sections and business services functions. By supporting the Firm's employment life-cycle, you will have the opportunity to interact with all levels of employees on a variety of topics.
The tracking and reporting of People data is a critical part of our daily work. You will have opportunities to help globally align processes and procedures to drive cultural change and engagement across the Firm.
You will work collaboratively across the People team throughout all of the above by sharing best practices, leveraging backgrounds and skills sets to achieve a cohesive one-team and ultimately one-Firm experience.

Duties and Accountabilities1

  • Update and maintain HR systems, including Taleo and PeopleSoft; develop and provide regular reports on HR activity
  • Support people development planning to ensure all Legal and Business Services professionals are on boarded, resourced, trained, mobilized, and developed in a way that benefits both the individual and the Firm
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding Firm policies and procedures
  • Administer referral bonus program for employees
  • Conduct and participate in the local new hire orientation and integration programs
  • Collaborate with Benefits to provide comprehensive service and information with respect to the full employee lifecycle, including advising on leaves of absence, paid time off, etc.
  • Participate in exit interviews for all employees, reporting regularly on the data gathered from those interviews and making recommendations for employee retention
  • Contribute to building and fostering a collaborative, collegial, high performing team committed to professional excellence; perform other miscellaneous tasks as assigned
  • Engage with People Advisory Managers on key annual initiatives that include, but are not limited to, performance evaluations and compensation reviews
  • Exercise good judgement; identify and escalate potential employee relations matters in a proactive manner to People Advisory Managers

Qualifications

  • 2 years of professional services, talent management and/or HR experience, and working across a regional, global, or remote cross-border teams
  • Experience with shared service capability
  • Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Legal or other professional services experience preferred
  • Self-motivated and achievement oriented
  • Open minded and collaborative with a consultative approach
  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Calm and resilient
  • Excellent business acumen and administrative skills
  • Able to manage competing/conflicting priorities effectively to achieve a way forward

Position Summary

The Business Development (BD) Coordinator is an integral part of our global Business Development, Marketing & Knowledge (BDM&K) function. This centralized team works across our practice groups, industry groups and client account teams to provide the very best support for the BD activities and initiatives these groups undertake to realize their commercial and marketing goals.
The BD Coordinator team will be highly trained in all aspects of our market-leading BD processes and systems and will be responsible for globally consistent, high-quality output to ensure rapid and successful execution of their part in our BD initiatives.

Duties and Accountabilities1

Our team of BD Coordinators will primarily support the Global BD team-members across the network (as well as some regional/global support in English language with the responsibilities of the role) including, but not limited to:

  • Liaise with regional BD Managers to scope out their requirements from the team and act as a gateway between them and the Coordinator support base
  • Assisting with matter research, lawyer biographies and other content preparation needed to support pitches, proposals, capability statements and other client presentations and seminar materials
  • Updating and maintaining our matters database in our global Matter Profiling System
  • Assisting with creation and maintenance of our client marketing lists for electronic campaigns
  • Education and training of Pas/secretaries on use of our InterAction Opportunities system
  • Maintaining databases of new and closed transactions to ensure deals are correctly profiled and entered into the Firm's Matter Profile System database, and opportunities are captured in the Firm's CRM database
  • Supporting the drafting of submissions for legal directories (Legal 500, Chambers & Partners, etc.) and award entries, by research and assistance on submission preparation and gathering of client referees from our partners
  • Real time submissions and regular review/reporting for our various league tables
  • Producing all English language BD bulletins and newsletters produced in EMEA
  • Support the CAM/industry BD team to help drive the implementation of sector and client action plans in support of the section's business plan, and related business development initiatives in London and globally
  • Client, market, sector and decision-maker research and analysis as required
  • Opportunity spotting research and communication with relevant BD team members to aid with "rapid response" opportunity spotting for our target clients
  • Review of relevant legal/trade media and sharing of relevant information to BD team-members
  • Other ad hoc projects as required

Qualifications

  • Graduate with relevant and in-depth business development experience in a professional services firm
  • Relevant marketing (CIM) or a postgraduate qualification would be a distinct advantage
  • Able to manage competing/conflicting priorities effectively to achieve a way forward
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of, or keen interest in, marketing/BD, would be a distinct advantage
  • Excellent communication skills - written and oral - and ability to work at all levels
  • Flexible, committed and enthusiastic

  • Exposure to client relationship management would be advantageous
