Main Responsibilities

• Write a strategic health and safety plan in line with corporate and internal objectives
• Facilitate the OHS Committee
• Act as a change agent with employees and management (risk assessment, communication and training) with a view to continuous improvement
• Develop and use different means of communication on health and safety elements
• Support managers during work accidents
• Measure changes in health and safety performance and recommend corrective plans;
• Ensures compliance and implementation of policies, internal procedures and legislative requirements in health and safety and the environment
• Act as a resource person with external stakeholders and the corporate group
• Carry out various health and safety audits, inspections and analyzes and see to the follow up of the resulting elements
• Manage the budget and make OHS purchases
• Support managers in the application of health and safety programs and procedures at the labor and environmental matters.

Education, Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Health & Safety or a certificate in health and safety with relevant experience
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a food manufacturing field with similar functions
• Union experience is desirable
