Responsibilities:
1. Assist the residents with personal hygiene like bathing, grooming, and dressing.
2. Monitor and record vital signs such as temperature, blood pressure, and pulse.
3. Administer medications with supervision from a registered nurse or healthcare provider.
4. Assist with mobility and transfers to ensure patient safety.
5. Implement care plans and treatment protocols.
6. Collaborate with the healthcare team for optimal patient care.
7. Keep accurate and current medical records.
8. Perform basic medical procedures like venipuncture and sterile processing.
9. Provide emotional support to patients and families during difficult times.
10. Follow HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality. Required Skills:
1. Exceptional organizational skills for managing medical records and documentation.
2. Previous work experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is preferred.
3. Expertise in venipuncture techniques for blood collection.
4. Skilled in ventilating patients using appropriate techniques and equipment.
5. Familiarity with sterile processing techniques.
6. Comprehension of HIPAA regulations and the ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
7. Proficiency in medication administration and adherence to proper protocols.
8. Understanding of hospice care principles and implementation of best practices.
9. Proficient in performing spinal taps and providing assistance during various medical procedures.
Requirements:
Two - three years of experience working a in Long-Term Care setting
Experience working with "Geriatric Patients"
Experience or knowledge working with Point Click Care
Strong abilities as a geriatric nursing assistant in long-term care and experience working with geriatric patients.
Certification: Certified in the states of Maryland and Virginia.
Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
