JOB TITLE: Cook--Full time (Mornings with weekends off)

Pay Range: $20.00-$22.00 depending on experience

REPORTS TO: Housing Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

The cook is responsible for preparing and cooking high quality meals following the menu for our residents. The cook must be flexible, willing to prepare home cooked meals with creativity and resourcefulness. Some direction and instruction to caregivers is required. The cook is responsible for maintaining sanitary conditions as required by the MN Department of Health and is knowledgeable on Heath Department regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Organize, clean, and maintain sanitary conditions in the kitchen.

Prepare daily meals as well as snacks for residents following the menu.

Maintain knowledge of residents special dietary needs or likes/dislikes.

Instructs caregivers on proper sanitary regulations.

Assist with staying on budget with all food orders and purchases

Meet with residents periodically to assess food preferences.

Work with House Manager on food preparation/service for special events

Maintain confidentiality of residents personal and medical information

Proper sanitary practices

Food preparation and cooking

Menu planning

First Aid Certification with skills to alleviate choking

Communication skills with residents, visitors and the State of Minnesota Survey Team

Emergency procedures for flood, fire, power outage and tornado
