White River Nutrition is Hiring a Revenue Accountant Near Omaha, NE

Position Overview: White River Nutrition (White River) is seeking a Revenue Accountant. The Revenue Accountant plays a critical role in accurately recording and reporting the organization's revenue. This position involves working closely with various departments, including finance, sales, and operations, to ensure that revenue recognition practices align with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and company policies. The ideal candidate will have experience in finance, preferably with some familiarity and/or interest in the agriculture industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Revenue Recognition

  • Review revenue recognition policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company guidelines.
  • Collaborate with sales and operations teams to assess the terms and conditions of contracts and agreements and their impact on revenue and inventory.

Financial Reporting

  • Prepare and maintain accurate and timely financial reports related to revenue and inventory, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Assist in the preparation of revenue-related disclosures for external financial reporting purposes.

Reconciliation and Analysis

  • Reconcile revenue and inventory accounts and identify and investigate any discrepancies or variances.
  • Perform financial analysis on inventory accounts to identify any issues.

Process Improvement

  • Continuously evaluate and improve revenue and inventory accounting processes and controls to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Implement best practices and streamline procedures to optimize the revenue accounting function.

Audit Support

  • Assist in the coordination and preparation of audit schedules and documentation for external audits.
  • Respond to auditor inquiries and provide support during audit procedures related to revenue recognition and inventory reporting.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with other departments, such as sales, operations, and legal, to address revenue and inventory-related issues and ensure alignment with business objectives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Previous experience in revenue and inventory accounting
  • Strong understanding of GAAP principles
  • Proficiency in financial analysis, reconciliation, and reporting
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively communicate financial information
  • Experience with ERP systems and accounting software
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize deadlines effectively
  • Commitment to upholding ethical standards and maintaining confidentiality of financial information
