Whitney Rehabilitation Care Center is Hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Manager Near Hamden, CT

Whitney Rehabilitation Care Center is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) Manager to oversee patients and manage an assigned nursing team in our facility. Our ideal candidate has solid experience as a Registered Nurse and can handle stressful situations. This position requires team management skills and a problem-solving attitude.
Whitney Rehabilitation Care Center has been providing excellent care to the community for over 50 years. Privately owned and operated, we offer short and long term skilled nursing care and rehabilitation as well as outpatient therapy. Whitney Rehabilitation Care Center has been given a 5 Star rating for Quality Measures by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services. We are charter members of the Yale Preferred Provider Post-Acute Care Network and recognized as a Tier 1 provider for Hartford Healthcare.
Shift details:
  • 8-hours, Monday-Friday 8am-4pm
  • On call

Responsibilities of the RN Unit Manager:
  • Complete assessments of residents at admission and discharge.
  • Supervise nursing staff assigned.
  • Document services rendered to residents for billing purposes.
  • Make daily rounds to monitor resident care and status of residents.
  • Implement established nursing policies and procedures, educating nursing support staff according to facility guidelines.
  • Assign duties to LPNs and nursing assistants.
  • Other special projects and duties, as assigned.
  • Attend resident care conference meetings and provide follow-up as needed.
  • Manage the unit to ensure that the resident's clinical and care needs are being met.
Requirements of the RN Unit Manager:
  • Registered Nurse with current state license.
  • A minimum two years of nursing experience in long term care.
  • Must have a current/active CPR certification.
  • Knowledge of policy and procedure required by D.P.H. in long term care.
  • Function independently, and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with employees and vendors.
Must be vaccinated for Covid 19.
