WHOA Behavioral Health is Hiring a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Near Richmond, VA

This position is based out of Richmond, Virginia with options for Tele-psychiatry.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of a Medical residency program that is approved by the VA board of Medicine.
  • Must be licensed to practice medicine in designated region as a License Nurse Practitioner (i.e., PMHNO) and hold a valid DEA and NPI number.
  • Must be contracted with insurance companies
  • CPR, Blood borne Pathogens, Infection Control, Emergency Preparedness, Human Rights and HIPAA Training.
  • Requirements as assigned by DMAS and/or licensure standards.
  • Preference given to child and adolescent providers or providers with substance use treatment experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prescribe, direct, or administer psychotherapeutic treatments or medications to treat mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders.
  • Treat clients using psychological therapies. Prescribe treatments or therapies as needed.
  • Collect medical information from patients, family members, or other medical professionals. Record patient medical histories.
  • Collaborate with physicians, psychologists, social workers, psychiatric nurses, or other professionals to discuss treatment plans and progress.
  • Examine or conduct laboratory or diagnostic tests on patients to provide information on general physical condition or mental disorder. Examine patients to assess general physical condition.
  • Advise patients on effects of health conditions or treatments.
  • Advise or inform guardians, relatives, or significant others of patients' conditions or treatment
  • Explain medical procedures or test results to patients or family members.
  • Teach, take continuing education classes, attend conferences or seminars, or conduct research and publish findings to increase understanding of mental, emotional, or behavioral states or disorders
  • Prepare official health documents or records
  • Prepare reports summarizing patient diagnostic or care activities
  • Maintain certifications in CPR/FA and be capable of performing these duties, at all times. If applicable, maintain all necessary requirements for maintaining LMHP status and other credentialing, including required participation in applicable continuing education
  • Represent WHOA in a positive and professional manner
  • Adhere to all WHOA policies and procedures and complete other tasks which may be necessary for the successful management of the program

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract

Pay: $135,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year
