Job Description
A career at Whole Foods Market is more than just the work you do. It's about your personal growth and creating meaningful change. Our purpose is to nourish people and the planet. That means improving how people eat, funding grants for school gardens, providing access to fresh and healthy food to people living within food deserts, alleviating poverty in developing countries, and so much more. Working with us means you are making a difference within your community and beyond. We aren't just a grocery store. We're world-changers. And with your help, we will continue to set the standards of excellence and revolutionize the grocery industry.
As we continue to grow and innovate, we are seeking a Principal Program Manager to shape the future of our digital strategy and accelerate our growth. In this role, you'll be a critical contributor to our positioning, go-to-market, retention, and engagement strategy across E-Commerce and omni-channel programs. Digital is a key growth focus area for Whole Foods Market; we're investing heavily in evolving direct-to-consumer channels, launching new E-Commerce concepts, and enhancing store shopping through digital interfaces. You'll be a key partner to the business, product, technology, and design teams in advancing towards that future. Additionally, you'll help shape the future of the Product Marketing function at Whole Foods Market, as we seek to evolve our tools, ways of working, and skillset. The ideal candidate is a self-initiated leader and change agent, has an intuitive understanding of digital and omni-channel customer needs, and is excited about the opportunity to transform an organization towards accelerated growth. Lastly, we're seeking an individual with the eagerness to teach and the humility to learn from others.
This hybrid position is based in downtown Austin, TX and allows for you to work remotely up to two days per week.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop deep expertise of customer profiles, need states, and journeys in digital and E-Commerce contexts, through partnership with research and data teams. Leverage that expertise for influencing the product roadmap, user experience, and marketing plans.
  • Drive the definition of digital products' positioning strategy, helping refine the targeted audience, customer need, and differentiated value, in partnership with product, research, and business teams.
  • Partner with product and program teams to identify significant roadmap milestones and align on a launch strategy (features, timing).
  • Develop go-to-market strategy for activating product launches, in partnership with creative, media and channel marketing teams. Lead the creation of a channel, creative, and measurement plans for GTM.
  • Manage and optimize year-round performance of traffic, retention, and engagement metrics.
  • Create a lifecycle strategy for digital products, targeting increased retention and cross-program usage.
  • Drive growth efforts by partnering with product and analytics in testing, iterating and measuring the impact of different campaigns, ingresses, and interactions.
  • Support the evolution of Marketing Tech tools (CDP, analysis, segmentation, experimentation/activation). Help define requirements, implementing new software, and evolving ways of working to align to match enhanced capabilities.
  • Participate in Paid Media budget planning, representing and advocating for the digital channel.
  • Partner with Finance and business teams in managing a marketing budget for digital programs, and building acquisition and lifecycle cost into the digital product P&L and roadmap estimates.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • BA/BS degree and 6-8 years' marketing experience OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • E-Commerce or omnichannel shopping experience preferred
  • Product marketer with significant experience managing marketing campaigns with a track record of hitting adoption targets vis--vis new product or technology launches for a national or global company
  • Strong business acumen with demonstrated results surpassing sales growth targets and sales performance goals
  • Omnichannel marketing experience with paid media experience preferred; the successful candidate will have managed significant paid media budgets for eCommerce brand(s) or partnered closely with paid media teams to drive results.
  • Growth mindset with a willingness to lead a new function; experience partnering with multiple stakeholders in a matrixed organization to drive alignment and deepen impact
