Operations Manager, Culinary Center

Role Overview: The Operations Manager at our Culinary Center will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of our operations. Responsible for overseeing daily production activities, maintaining quality standards, driving continuous improvement initiatives, fostering a culture of safety and excellence, and managing facility operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Responsible for leading the development and execution of operational strategies aligned with our business goals. Optimizing production schedules, labor hours, and resource allocation for maximum efficiency.
  • Quality Assurance: Responsible for ensuring compliance with quality control programs, emphasizing food safety, product reliability, and customer satisfaction. Implementing measures to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Responsible for regularly reviewing operational processes, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing effective manufacturing practices. Developing and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure departmental performance.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to optimize workflow, enhance efficiency and improve customer retention and satisfaction.
  • People Development: Responsible for coaching and mentoring supervisors and team members to enhance their skills and capabilities. Fostering a positive work environment and promoting employee engagement.
  • Safety Culture: Responsible for leading by example in promoting and maintaining a strong safety culture. Ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Equipment Management: Responsible for coordinating maintenance activities for equipment and physical assets. Optimizing equipment usage and managing budget allocations effectively. Sets safety standards for all equipment usage in accordance with OSHA and company standards and policies.
  • Facility Management: Oversee facility operations, including maintenance, security, cleanliness, and utilities management. Ensure a safe, functional, and efficient working environment.
  • Track, monitor, and maintain inventory of shipping materials and related inventory, ensuring proper functioning and availability.
  • Establishes and oversees the standard for proper order picking, loading, and the delivery of products to customers.
  • Ensures minimal product damage, safety, inventory control and a high level of customer satisfaction and service.
  • Certifications and Audits: Responsible for participating in third-party audits to maintain regulatory compliance and industry certifications as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, guidelines, and accreditation standards related to the manufacturing and distribution of prepared meals.

Decision-Making Examples:

  • Adjusting production plans based on customer demand and market trends.
  • Making staffing decisions to address operational needs and optimize production schedules.
  • Implementing cost-saving initiatives and process improvements to enhance efficiency and profitability.
  • Prioritizing facility maintenance and upgrades to ensure a safe and productive working environment.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or related field preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in food manufacturing, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Skills: Strong analytical skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and basic SAP knowledge.
  • Abilities: Goal-oriented, adaptable, highly organized, and skilled in change management.

Physical Demands:

  • Light to medium physical demand level (PDL) with occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend/stoop frequently.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $99,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
