At Whole Heart Elder Care, we count on our caregivers to gently and professionally step up to the plate and meet the needs of our clients, providing a level of care that exceeds expectations. We are seeking an experienced caregiver who can be a companion that feels like family, providing our clients with not only trustworthy care, but a life of renewed possibilities. You will be providing assistance to older adults throughout the aging process and giving them a valuable helping hand. You will serve as an invaluable support person in a variety of scenarios. Often, our clients may need someone to bathe them, help them dress, and make sure they eat healthy meals. Our ideal candidate will be able to handle any and all of these circumstances, with a gentle touch and a cheerful attitude.

What will you be doing?

Duties and responsibilities will include the following;

  • Assisting with personal care, which may include bathroom functions, bathing, grooming, dressing, and eating.
  • Following a prescribed care plan, which may include assisting with exercise and administering medication.
  • Ensuring the client’s home is organized according to their needs and that safety measures are in place. You may also be expected to assist with some light housework.
  • Providing emotional support and encouragement to perform necessary tasks.
  • Providing mobility assistance may be required, for example helping the client in and out of bed, a chair, or a wheelchair.
  • Providing reminders and assistance with medication intake and appointments
  • Transporting or escorting the client to medical and other appointments.
  • Monitoring and reporting changes in health, behavior, and needs.

What are we looking for?

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate experience of working within the field of in-home caregiving, an understanding of the challenges unique to that field, as well as experience of working to provide seniors live their life to the fullest. To succeed as a caregiver you should be patient, empathetic, and have strong people skills. You should be observant and committed to making our clients feel safe and comfortable.

As well as this the following are required;

  • 1 years professional experience as a caregiver
  • Certificate in basic first aid and CPR
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or a related field preferred
  • Must pass background check and drug screen
  • Valid driver’s license, auto insurance and transportation; ability to travel as required
  • As an in-home care agency our caregivers are not required to be vaccinated

For this position we’re offering a competitive pay structure ($17-19 p/h) alongside other benefits such as flexible working and performance based pay increases. We also provide you an excellent work environment where you can work with freedom and stability along with all the tools you need to be a success in home-based caregiving.
