Schedule: Saturday and Sunday (8am-8pm)
Role:
Completes admission and release paperwork, screens and assesses children when brought in. Distribute paperwork to appropriate departments and agencies.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:30% Screen and assess children for victimization utilizing dialogue with child, conducting body reports and review case information from law enforcement or DCF.
30% Interacts with DCF case workers, police department representatives, Juvenile Intake and Assessment Center, and District Attorney’s office to obtain, record, and transfer case information.
10% Identifies medical concerns and medication status.
5% Answers calls and records referral information for incoming admissions, completes and distributes all paperwork.
5% Checks admission and release information to all departments.
5% Secures information such as medical, psychological, and social factors contributing to youths’ situation and disseminates appropriate information.
5% Follows up to obtain medication if needed.
5% Confirms release plans with identified agencies.
5% Discusses with family members plans for release. Provides support in other departments throughout the home when requested. Rotates on-call status for intake on rotation, performs other duties as assigned.

2. Knowledgeable about cultural norms, values, traditions and child-rearing practices
3. Knowledge of Resident’s Rights
4. Knowledgeable of family dynamics and related issues that challenge and impact a family system; i.e. substance abuse, financial difficulties
5. Ability to demonstrate functional written and oral communication skills
6. Ability to remain flexible and adjust to changes in the population served in order to meet the needs of children
7. Able to demonstrate professional communications and interactions
8. Able to report to work on time and complete scheduled shifts; able to consistently complete assigned tasks during shift
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience: Preferred one to three months related industry experience.
Education: High school diploma or general education degree (G.E.D.)
Interpersonal Skills: Reasoning ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Have the skills, patience, and understanding to work with and around special needs youth.
Maintaining composure under stress and sensitivity to the needs of others
Ability to represent the Home in a professional manner
Other Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers and employees of organization
