DescriptionJob Title: Technician 5 Product Support (Available September 2024) Position Function: The Product Support Technician reports directly to the Supervisor, Production Control and follows the directions of the Product Support Lead and Supervisor, Production Control. Essential Performance Responsibilities
Troubleshoots various district technology devices and software solutions
Actively manages assigned work orders through Freshservice ticket system
Travels to assigned district buildings to support staff and students technological needs
Perform software updates as technology evolves
Repair hardware warranty work as necessary
Assist attendance center Site Technology Specialists as necessary
Collaborate with Product Support on districtwide and site-based projects
Interacts in professional manner with all district staff and students
Additional Duties: Performs additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor, Production Control and the Product Support Lead. Equipment: This position requires the ability to use SMART boards, laptops, iPads, interactive flat panels, in addition to basic office equipment such as computers, copiers, scanners, and fax machine. Must always comply with USD 259's guidelines for equipment use. Travel: Frequent travel between schools and central offices may be required. Physical And Mental Demands

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Willingness to learn about technology and an aptitude to support technology which may include: Installing and configuring software, basic network administration, basic understanding of Desktop and Network Operating Systems, basic hardware and software troubleshooting and diagnostics (narrow down the problem and process of elimination)
Knowledge of Intune mobile device management
Ability to research, evaluate and make recommendations regarding technology
Strong people and communication skills
Well organized with good time management skills
Ability and willingness to share technical knowledge and train all levels of users to provide on-going staff/student training opportunities
Displays a significant degree of professionalism and confidentiality
Ability to conform to proper standards of professional dress and appearance

Contact with personnel within the district and with customers and vendors
Will be working under the direct supervision of the department supervisor in order to complete day to day tasks

Any deviation from assigned hours must have prior approval from the employee¿s supervisor or building administrator
All employees are required to report to work dressed in a manner that reflects a positive image of USD 259 and is appropriate for their position
Qualification Profile
A High School Education or GED equivalent is required
Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems or Computer Information Systems and network certification or substantial training with a solid knowledge and experience of local area and wide area networks is preferred
A minimum of five years WPS experience or a related field required
Strong leadership, troubleshooting, and teamwork skills as well as an extensive knowledge of computer hardware, software, networking and other technology applications (including maintenance and repair of various kinds of computer hardware and an understanding of a variety of software packages) are vital
