An established and reputable farm partnership in Fairmount, ND is seeking a skilled and dependable full-charge bookkeeper/accountant to manage their financial records. As part of this role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining accurate financial data, ensuring compliance, and supporting the family’s various business and personal transactions. Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate financial records for multiple entities (farming, equipment holding, LLCs, Family Limited Partnership).
• Monitor and verify transactions related to jointly held grain elevators and the family trust.
• Track income, expenses, and debt repayment.
• Collaborate effectively with other team members.
• Handle sensitive financial information with discretion.
• Plan for scheduled transactions (e.g., tax payments, loan repayments).
• Understand the interconnections between different entities within the family structure.
• Ensure accurate reporting of acres and production for insurance and regulatory purposes.
• Record all transactions promptly, including production, sales, and income receipts.

Qualifications:

• Education: A minimum of an associate degree in accounting is required, with a preference for candidates holding a bachelor’s degree.
• 3-4 years’ experience in bookkeeping or accounting required
• Familiarity of farm industry required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Ability to learn and use the current accounting software (CenterPoint) and adapt to new programs as needed.
• Strong understanding of balance sheets and income statements.
• Understanding of fixed asset transactions (selling, purchasing, and trading).
• Knowledge of farming operations, including reporting requirements for crop insurance and USDA purposes.
