Position: The Parts Specialist will be responsible for overseeing the procurement, inventory management, and distribution of parts and supplies for an organization. The role involves ensuring the availability of parts to support maintenance, repair, and production activities while optimizing inventory levels and controlling costs.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
· Identify parts and supplies needed for maintenance, repair, and production activities based on equipment requirements and inventory levels.
· Source parts from suppliers and vendors, negotiate pricing and terms, and place purchase orders to replenish stock.
· Evaluate suppliers based on factors such as quality, price, delivery time, and reliability.
· Receive and coordinate the distribution of parts to internal departments and jobsites as needed.
· Ensure timely and accurate delivery of parts to meet operational and customer requirements.
· Monitor transportation logistics arrangements to optimize delivery efficiency and minimize costs.
· Close out Work Orders established for parts/services.
· Evaluate, verify, and ensure timeliness of vendor invoices.
· Cultivate and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure reliable and cost-effective supply chains.
· Address issues related to quality, pricing, delivery delays, and other concerns in a timely and effective manner.
· Negotiate pricing agreements, and service level agreements with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions. To include selling or trading of old, unused, or unwanted inventory products. Implementing, managing, and assessing warranty items and returns.
· Develop and manage the parts department budget, including forecasting expenses, monitoring spending, and controlling costs.
· Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and efficiency enhancements within the parts management function.
· Analyze financial reports and key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess departmental performance and identify areas for improvement.
· Maintain accurate records of parts inventory levels, including stock levels, reorder points, and lead times.
· Implement inventory management systems and procedures to track stock movement, minimize stockouts, and prevent overstocking.
· Conduct regular inventory audits and cycle counts to reconcile discrepancies and ensure data accuracy.
· Analyze inventory data to identify trends, forecast demand, and adjust stocking levels accordingly.
· Other duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: ·
· Secondary Educational Requirements: Successful completion of postsecondary education in Construction, Business Management, Trade School OR minimum of 5 years in a construction/equipment inventory role required. Heavy equipment and/or trucking experience preferred.
· Strong knowledge of parts procurement processes, inventory management principles, and supply chain best practices.
· Ability to multi-task, flexibility in daily & weekly work schedule to meet deadlines and commitments.
· Experience in a diverse work environment; ability to connect with key decision makers as well as field, shop, and operations contacts.
