Description

The Warehouse Assistant is responsible for overseeing the1st and 2nd shift day to day operations.

PrimaryResponsibilities :

Ensures WorldClass service in daily interaction with all levels of personnelwithin the company customers and suppliers.

Ensures all work is performed to company approvedprocedures standards and specifications.

Workclosely with Warehouse Manager and team to ensure that quality andproductivity requirements are maintained and communicated to eachteam member.

Ensures the team is managed andtrained.

Promote safety and maintain theawareness of a safe work environment.

Handle allrelevant employee timekeeping record requirements vacationscheduling performance appraisals and disciplinaryactions.

Keep immediate manager fully informedof all matters of significance and takes prompt corrective actionwhere necessary or suggest alternatives.

Performall necessary management functions to effectively and efficientlymanage the personnel assigned. Responsible for the interviewinghiring training evaluating performance management and firing ofwarehouse personnel.

Communicate areas ofaccountability and performance expected of personnelassigned.

Create and maintain a positive workingenvironment to promote employee morale and productivity.

Maintain inventory control.

Ensurespulling orders with 100% accuracy and package safely to load ontrucks.

Ensures the loading and unloading oftrucks daily.

Receiving and checking accuracy ofinventory received from vendors.

Ensurehousekeeping and cleanliness of all work areas. Ensure dock areasoutside dock areas break areas bathrooms are organized clean freeof debris and in good working condition.

Performall duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner inaccordance with established company policies to achieve the overallobjectives of this position.

Perform otherduties and responsibilities as required.

SupervisoryResponsibility :

This positionhelps supervise under the management of the Warehouse Manager allwarehouse employees.

Physical and WorkEnvironment :

Must be able to work in a warehouseenvironment (inside / outside).

Ability to work ina cold freezer below 20 degrees.

Liftingstanding reaching climbing is required on an ongoingbasis.

Must be able to lift to 50pounds.

MinimumRequirements :

High School Diploma / GED Equivalent.

A fouryear degree from anaccredited college preferred.

Minimum of 3 yearsof experience in a frozen and refrigerated warehouse ordistribution center.

Knowledge of shelf dates / rotations on items.

Strong work ethic andprofessionalism.

Excellent verbal and writtencommunication skills.

Strong leadershipskills.

Strong focus on quality and ability tomaster productivity.

Excellent timemanagement.

Ability to effectively interact withhourly team members management and executive team.

Demonstrates Can Do approach in responding to customersrequest as well as other team members across organization. Actswith a sense of urgency and can meet deadlines.

Ability to work a flexible schedule including earlymornings evenings and / or weekends to meet businessdemands.

Must be computer proficient.

English and Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
