Position Summary: The Field Mechanic is responsible for servicing, maintaining, and traveling to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of heavy industrial equipment; must maintain service vehicle in a clean and professional manner.

Key Roles / Responsibilities: 

• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment including testing and diagnostics.
• Monitor, evaluate, and adjust processes or equipment to maximize quality and efficiency.
• Able to diagnose simple and complex mechanical problems.
• Assist other technicians with performing repairs and maintenance as needed.
• Understand knowledge of oil field and engine equipment.
• Ability to perform tasks efficiently and effectively.
• Able to complete service jobs as required in a timely manner.
• Effectively communicate with customers, co-workers, and management.
• Must follow all company policies and procedures.
• Must attend training classes as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.
• Overtime will be required based on company demand.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 2 years’ experience with similar industrial equipment strongly preferred.
• 2-5 years prior field service experience preferred.
• Must be capable of performing complex repairs correctly and safely in a shop environment and in the field.
• Must own a basic set of hand tools.
• Must have a valid driver license or commercial driver license.
• Able to travel overnight between facilities as necessary.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficient in the English language.

Working Conditions:

• Bending, lifting, climbing, pushing, pulling, kneeling, sitting stand, walk, kneel, stoop, squat, pull, push, climb, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, and see and standing (occasionally) for long periods of time.
• The essential duties of this position require moderate to heavy lifting and carrying.
• Prolonged periods of sitting on a forklift or other warehouse equipment.
• Exposure to moderate noise levels, vibrations, and bright lights; and exposure to dust, fumes, and gases; and all climate types including hot and cold temperatures, humidity, rain, snow, etc.
• Able to wear common protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, breathing protection, and hard hats when needed.
• Able to work under stressful conditions at times.
• React quickly using hands, fingers, or feet.
• Must be able to move and lift to 40-pound wooden skid or pallet.
• Ability to travel throughout facility as required to conduct safety inspections.
• Must be able to comprehend and follow written and oral instructions.
• Must be able to complete tasks even with frequent interruptions.
• Must be able to use discretion and independent judgment as needed.
• Must be able to speak clearly on the phone and to fellow workers.
